About this product

This shield plugs straight down onto an Arduino Uno or Mega and turns it into a four-motor robot controller. Two L293D chips handle four DC motors, or two stepper motors, and there are two extra headers for servos so a driving robot with a steerable sensor head needs no other boards.

Because everything routes through the shield, students spend their lab time on code and mechanics instead of chasing loose jumper wires. Motor power goes to a single screw terminal, and a jumper decides whether the Arduino runs from the same supply or from its own USB or barrel connection.

The well-known AFMotor library keeps the code short: create a motor object, set a speed from 0 to 255, and call run(FORWARD). Ideal for 4WD chassis builds, Bluetooth-controlled cars and obstacle-avoiding robots.
