About this product

Six degrees of freedom means the arm can rotate at the base, lift at the shoulder and elbow, tilt and roll at the wrist, and open and close a gripper. That is enough movement to pick up a small block, turn it over and place it somewhere else, which is exactly the demonstration that makes industrial robotics click for a student.

The frame is 3 mm laser-cut acrylic with metal servo brackets and bearings at the base, and it is driven by MG996R metal gear servos rather than plastic gear hobby servos, so it holds position under load instead of drooping. It arrives unassembled with an illustrated guide; expect two to three hours of careful building.

Control it from an Arduino with potentiometers for manual teaching, or with a PCA9685 16-channel driver for smooth programmed sequences and inverse kinematics work. Note that servos of this size need their own 6 V 5 A supply, sold separately - do not try to power six of them from an Arduino.
