About this product

The HC-SR04 sends out a short burst of ultrasound and times the echo coming back, exactly the way a bat judges distance. Pulse the Trig pin for 10 microseconds, measure how long the Echo pin stays high, divide by 58, and you have the distance in centimetres.

This is the first sensor most students meet, because it runs happily on 5V, needs no calibration and every Arduino tutorial in the world already has code for it. Obstacle-avoiding cars, automatic dustbins, water tank level indicators and blind-stick projects are all built around this one small board.

Works with Arduino Uno, Nano and Mega, and with Raspberry Pi. On 3.3V boards such as ESP32 and NodeMCU, use a simple two-resistor divider on the Echo pin. Every unit is bench-tested before we dispatch it.
